One Month

Little Lucy Kate

Judd Carson New 11/28/2007

Lucy Kate New 1/26/2010

One month ago today, we welcomed Lucy into our family. Over the past month, we have enjoyed getting to know Lucy and adjusting to life with her. She is laid back and has made this transition fairly easy for us.

As for Judd, he is already the protective big brother! When she cries, he races to her side and he comforts her by saying, "otay, jucy. otay, jucy." It has been fun watching Judd love on his little sister.

Lucy's stats at two weeks:
9 lbs 1 oz
20 1/2 inches
14 3/4 HC

Lucy,
We love you so much and cannot imagine life without you. You are a perfect fit for our family. We love your fuzzy hair, cute little ears, your little squeals, and long narrow feet. You are so laid back and such a sweet little girl. We are enjoying every bit of life with you and your brother. Thanks for a great first month. Looking forward to sharing many more months and memories with you!

Merry Christmas!

Finally getting to ride his new tractor!!!!!
Realizing that Santa had left him some sweet Hot Wheels in his stocking!

Admiring his gifts from Santa...

Judd playing in the snow yesterday, Christmas Eve 2009.

On Monday, I was placed on bed rest until baby girl arrives; therefore, we were not allowed to travel to Houston this year. My grandmother is in Florida visiting my Aunt GenaVee this year. So, we wanted to share a few pictures of Christmas morning with them. If you are not a grandma or great-grandma, you may not love the pictures as much as them.

We spent today with my parents and just relaxed on the couch. Jason and I are truly blessed to live so close to family especially since I am placed on bed rest. We hope you all had a Merry Christmas and enjoyed celebrating the birth of Jesus.

Happy Birthday, Son!

Judd,
Two years ago today, I was at Lake Highlands JH in room A109 letting my students go crazy and praying that you were going to stay put for a few more weeks. Your dad was at home taking care of my "nesting" list I am sure, because he had the week off from school. You came this day shortly after seven and our lives have never been the same. The past two years, you have brought us so much love, joy, and happiness into our home. We could not be more proud to say that we are your parents. We know that you are a precious gift and thank God everyday for choosing us to be your parents. We look forward to celebrating many more birthdays with you, JUDD! Happy Birthday, Son! WE LOVE YOU!

These Days with Judd

A few pictures of Judd

Judd collecting rain water...

then pouring his rain water into his water table.

He just recently got this new chair from Poppy and SheShe. He loves to read to himself, watch TV, or eat dinner in his chair. I think it might be his new best friend next to his man towel of course!

Here is an example of a mess. Yes...I know...typical! Instead of eating his mustard with his corn dog like normal people, Judd wanted to finger paint with the mustard. At least, he his happy while making a mess!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Judd just is about to turn TWO in November. It is so hard to believe that not only will he be a big brother soon but my sweet little baby boy will be...TWO! I am thankful that God chose Jason and I to raise this little boy. My prayer is that one day Judd will be a man of his word and that he loves his Savior. We know he is a precious gift and cannot get enough of him. Judd at times can be a mess but overall he is sweet, happy and passionate little boy. His only pace is FAST therefore I declare him a mess. Others just tell me he is a typical boy. Raising a boy is defiantly a new experience for me. I see new challenges a head of me everyday like the first time Judd wants me to hold a bug (I do not do creatures!) or him missing the toilet. God has a sense of humor that is for sure. As these challenges arise, I will try to embrace them with love and compassion. Because, I truly am grateful that Jason allows me to raise our son at home. I adore my job!

Also, Jason and I like to point out to each other which qualities Judd has adopted from his parents. Yes, our child is very independent and headstrong much like me. I was never one listen or take much advice because I would figure it out on my own. Judd has this same quality which is not all that bad. He likes to explore and discover all on his own. As for Jason's quality, he tends to be shy and a man of few words. Judd does like to talk at times but he has become very shy in public. Oh yes...Judd has also picked up the wonderful trait of spitting from this father. Do you see any challenges in my future?

JUDD's Likes and Dislikes lately:
  • He loves to play/drive his cars ALL DAY! (Sometimes he does get mad at his cars if they do not do exactly what he wants them to do.)
  • Loves to play outside...rain or shine
  • Obsessed with brushing his teeth. This boy cannot get enough of a toothbrush.
  • Likes Play hide and seek
  • Loves run wild like a banshee outside
  • Likes copying Jason
  • Still loves cell phones and knows how to work them
  • Developing quite the vocabulary.
  • He can say: Beez (please), eeths (teeth), hat, bye, oozes (shoes), side (outside), goal, ball, goo (drink), bath and continues to speak Juddism.
  • He still loves his bath time
  • We have discovered that Judd does not like wearing long sleeves! He knows how to sign "all done." So once we put him in his long sleeves, he walks around signing "all done". It is going to be a long winter!

We are having a blast watching Judd grow and change. He truly is such a joy and makes life more fun. We are so proud to be is his parents. Looking forward to fun days ahead...

T Minus 158 Days!!!

Judd will be a big brother! We are all very excited about the new addition to our family. In early February, Judd's sibling should make his/her arrival.
The picture of above is how we told our parents about the new baby. As many of you know, we live in a small town and know everyone! Since we moved back here, people were constantly asking us, when are you guys going to have another baby? My response was, "when Judd can spell baby." Therefore, my mom and mother-in-law started immediately trying to teach Judd how to spell B-A-B-Y. We made a shirt that read on the front...I can spell. On the back of the shirt, we spelled out baby. My mom knew instantly what we were trying to say which was fun to see her reaction. Jason's mom was already suspicious of me being pregnant therefore she said, "I knew it!" It was a fun time for all! (This is my excuse for not many post this summer! Please forgive me of those who read this blog.)

The Domels

Sarah and Matthew were married on June 6, 2009 as most of you know. My son, Judd, "was" to be the ring bearer. Lets just say...He never made it down the aisle. I knew getting him down the aisle was going to be a miracle but at least we got one good picture of him with Sarah. At first, he wanted nothing to do with Sarah. I think he was scared of her in the veil but he came around to her when she bribed him with her Fuze drink. At the reception, he only wanted to play outside. He was not much on visiting with the guests.

Sarah and Matthew,
The wedding was perfect. I hope you will be able to remember this day forever. Always remember to communicate and put your trust in the Lord. He is the rock that will keep you two together in the good times and bad. I (WE) look forward to making many new memories with you both now that you are husband and wife. Welcome to the family, Matthew!
